Cars on Fifth Ave. In Naples

The Naples Chapter of the Ferrari Club of America hosted the 13th annual “Cars on Fifth,” one of the most popular events of the year that attracted almost 50,000 car enthusiasts. Proceeds benefitted St. Matthews House. On display were more than 500 classic and new exotic vehicles, with over 100 Ferraris. Other representatives were: Jaguar, Packard, Lotus, Porche, Maserati, Mercedes, Corvette, Mclaren, Bentley and others.

What a treat to see all these exotic cars! The crowning gem was a $5 million LaFerrari. A representative informed me that three have sold in Naples!

Many new culinary gems are springing up in Naples and surrounding areas! Although Fifth Avenue and Third Street in Old Naples have long been renowned for a variety of excellent restaurants, epicurean residents and visitors are discovering a plethora of new eateries.

One such place is Petar’s Restaurant on Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs. Located in a cozy little place in the Publix shopping center,  just to the east of US 41, it will surely draw foodies from Naples, as well as Bonita, Estero and Ft. Myers.  The high online ratings fully met our expectations: Gourmet appetizers, entrees, and desserts – plus superb service.

Topping the list of the best things to do in Naples, FL or Marco Island is a day of fishing. Many avid fishermen love to head 25 minutes south of Naples to Marco Island and the Ten Thousand Island National Wildlife Refuge that has over 200 species of fish. The mangroves and sea grass beds provide anglers an opportunity to catch a wide variety of fish including snapper, snook, sea trout, and redfish.

If you happen to be looking at waterfront homes in Naples or Marco Island, there are many options, depending on your criteria and price range. Today I am featuring a boater’s new dream home that includes a 145′  seawall and quick, direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. It can be viewed at www.ParadiseCoastFlorida.com

In future blogs I will highlight different marinas and ways to enjoy fishing expeditions in our area.
